Dr. Roberto R. Quiroz is the associate director of Eastern Michigan University’s Charter Schools Office.

Dr. Quiroz’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and a Master’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Michigan. He earned a Master’s degree in public administration from the University of Michigan-Flint, and a doctorate in education from Wayne State University.

Dr. Quiroz has extensive experience in public education which includes teaching, program administration and working for the Michigan Department of Education. He has served as a leadership coach and school improvement consultant to traditional as well as Michigan charter schools. Dr. Quiroz believes that American education is the cornerstone of democracy and that charter schools provide an avenue for reaching the goal of equal educational opportunity in Michigan.

Dr. Quiroz provides our charter school leaders and boards with information about school improvement and distributive leadership, and consults with them on data-driven decision making. He resides in Waterford, Michigan. He is married and has four daughters and seven grandchildren.
