About the College
Everett
L. Marshall
Building
The Marshall Building is the campus "home"
of the
College
of Health
and Human
Services.
CHHS students,
faculty,
and staff
enjoy
the appearance
and functionality
of the
building,
which
opened
in the
Fall of
2000.
It is
also EMU's
first
"green"
building.
Four modern laboratories and 10 electronic classrooms provide an outstanding teaching and learning environment. The classroom seating arrangements and lighting are easily adjusted; and all classrooms feature a multimedia "smart" podium.
The building offers comfortable areas for study and relaxation between classes, as well as a well-equipped open computer lab and a snack bar. Faculty and staff can relax in a pleasant “Gathering Room” with kitchen facilities.
When you visit please notice the more than 90 pieces of original art work displayed throughout the building, all created by EMU students, alumni and Michigan artists.
The building has an environmentally friendly design throughout. Features include extensive use of natural lighting as well as stair treads, furnishings, and flooring made of recycled materials to support a sustainable environment.
