Human Subjects Information
All research, involving human subjects, which is to be conducted by faculty or students from Eastern Michigan University must be approved by the appropriate review committee. The purpose of this review is to ensure that the activity is conducted with the safety of the human subject as its highest priority. If the research is conducted by a faculty or staff member or a Doctoral Student, the Graduate School Human Subjects Review Committee administers the review process. If the research is conducted by an undergraduate or masters level student within the College of Health and Human Services, the review process is administered by the CHHS Human Subjects Review Committee. This committee is composed of elected members from each School within the College. The Committee meets monthly, year round, on the second Tuesday of each month. Proposals are due by 5PM on the first Monday of each month in order to give a week's time for the committee to review them. The committee will respond to each proposal within the week following its review.
All submissions must be in digital form. The submission must originate from the student's supervising faculty member. The following forms must be utilized:
