Mission

The academic programs within the School of Health Promotion and Human Performance represent an interdisciplinary approach that combines health science, behavioral science, medical science and sport science into applied disciplines.

The mission of the School of Health Promotion and Human Performance is to provide recognized programs of excellence in teaching, research and service that focus on assisting individuals, families, teachers, schools and communities in promoting health and preventing disease while enhancing the quality of life across the lifespan.

Our faculty are committed to advancing our mission by:

  • Developing effective leaders who will provide programs and care for individuals of all ages and abilities.
  • Providing an exemplary level of instruction that encourages diversity of thought and fosters a desire to engage in lifelong learning.
  • Engaging in collaborative research activities that promote health and human performance.
