Professional Summary

Following a 13-year career in Clinical Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, I joined the faculty at EMU in 1999. I was Coordinator of the Exercise Science Program for 12 years and now maintain the role of Clinical Coordinator. I teach the clinically relevant courses and, therefore, my scholarly focus is in the Clinical Exercise Physiology area. In 2009 I was awarded the EMU Teaching Excellence Award.

I am certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Clinical Exercise Specialist. Professionally, I have been heavily involved with ACSM Serving on the Professional Education Committee for seven years and the Credentialing and Certification Review Board (Clinical Exercise Specialist Subcommittee) for seven years. In addition, I have served as Chair of the National Student Quiz Bowl Committee for 5 years. I served for two years as member at large on the board of directors For the Midwest region of the ACSM.
