The EMU Occupational Therapy Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational therapy Association (AOTA). Their address is:

Graduates of our program will be eligible for the certification exam for the occupational therapist that is administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of the certification exam, the individual will be an occupational therapist, registered (OTR).

Additionally, some states will require licensure in order to practice. State licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Exam. NOTE: Felony convictions may affect an individual's ability to sit for the NBCOT certification exam or attain state licensure. For more information, please contact:
