Completed Project: Professional association advocacy: Increasing participation in the rural communities of Nebraska. $5,000 in grant funding obtained from College of Saint Mary's partnership project..
Completed Project: Qualitative research to result in the development of a model to increase the effectiveness of small special interest organizations and their advocacy efforts. Co-investigator with Kristin Haas, MOT, OTR/L.
Completed Project: Research relating to evidence-based practice and establishing documentation to support interventions used in school based occupational therapy services. Project in conjunction with Munroe-Meyer Institute.
Completed Project Jumpstart Handwriting: Screening preschool and kindergarten age children to identify handwriting deficits earlier, research on impact on handwriting referrals later in educational setting for students in screening pilot. Project in conjunction with Munroe-Meyer Institute.
Completed Project: Qualitative study to document outcomes of the clubhouse model program with adults with severe and chronic mental illness. $10,000 in funding obtained by Region VI Behavioral Health.
Completed Research Project 2001: Qualitative study relating to benefits of incorporating spirituality into training for health care professionals. $65,000 in funding by Catholic Health Initiatives.
Partners in Learning 2001: education of pre-service health care students in mental health setting. Grants submitted to FIPSE (Federal grant fund for Improvement of Post-Secondary Education), Hirschfield Foundation, and Barklage Foundation. Project not funded. In conjunction with Dr. Yolanda Griffiths, OTD, OTR/L, FAOTA.
