Member of the Advisory Sub-Committee for writing the Michigan Autism Spectrum Disorder State Plan

Member of the State of Michigan Autism Council for the Implementation of the State Plan-Sub-Committee on Early Childhood Diagnosis and Treatment.

Committee Member of two national Telehealth committees; one is charged with developing ASD screening programs, while the other is charged with developing occupational therapy guidelines for Telehealth services related to autism.

Board of Trustee and Executive Committee member of Starr Commonwealth, an internationally recognized leader in transformational mental health programs for children, families and communities.

Serve on the Professional Advisory Board of an NIMH grant to provide visual/video examples of ASD behaviors; over 1500 short video clips demonstrating approximately 80 categories of behaviors identified from the DSM V; filming ages 2 years through adults and comparing typical and ASD behaviors. I am one of the content advisors, behavior raters and feedback providers.

Provided the EMU faculty leadership for the faculty initiative to develop a multidisciplinary training center for the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Secured $1.5 million dollars in grant funding to lead faculty in the design, development, and implementation of the EMU Autism Collaborative Center. Served as the Executive Director until a full time administrator was hired to lead the Center.

Current release time at the Autism Collaborative Center (ACC) serving as the Clinical Director responsible for program development, assist with hiring of clinical staff, and development of EMU student education opportunities for students in eight different disciplines.

In collaboration with faculty from the COE, the Autism Collaborative Center developed a national model for a College Supports Program for students with Asperger’s Syndrome at EMU. The model has received national recognition as one of the ten best programs in the country.

Tele-health program. In collaboration with clinicians, faculty, and students to research best practices for each discipline in the provision of Telehealth services.

Bridge, T.J., Weincek, P. & Lemerand, P.  Outside In: Program Evaluation .  Eastern Michigan University, STARR Commonwealth Montcalm. 2008-2013.  Grant Consultant of the Outside-In Residential Program for youth with ASD and other mental health diagnoses and disorders. Consulted on all activities including the development of logic model, data collection protocols, and outcome evaluation/findings.
