Professional Summary

Laura Martinez retired from public service after 34 years. This service include the State of Michigan, Department of Human Services where she worked in the areas of General Service Administration, Child Support, and Children Services, Domestic Violence, Fatherhood Engagement Initiative, Strong Families/Safe Children Division as a consultant and technical assistant to community groups working with at-risk populations.  She also served with the Department of Corrections as a Probation/Parole Agent; Mental Health Traumatic Incident Debriefer team member and Home Health Care Social Worker. Her professional interests focus in social welfare policy, advocacy and practice with diverse communities, community building and civic engagement with diverse populations, particularly in the areas of immigration related to repatriation of Latino populations.
