| | Wednesday - 8/20 | Common Reading Experience Description: Campus Life announces "Autobiography of a Face", by award-winning author Lucy Grealy, as this year’s Common Read selection for all new freshmen at EMU. The entire campus community is encouraged to consider reading and discussing the book along with EMU’s newest students. In particular, we invite faculty teaching 100 and introductory level, general education, Honors and UNIV courses to consider ways of incorporating the book into their fall semester classes. A variety of campus events related to the book’s subject matter (such as films, exhibits, guest speakers and discussion groups) are planned to occur throughout fall semester. These opportunities to engage around a shared reading experience are open to all members of the campus. Multiple opportunities to discuss the book will also take place throughout Fusion: New Student Orientation. For more information about the EMU’s new student common reading experience, or how you can participate in the program, call Campus Life at 734.487.1208 or visit http://www.emich.edu/campuslife/nsp/commonread.php
