The Center for Multicultural Affairs is dedicated to planning and implementing educational and cultural programs that improve campus climate and enhance community life at EMU. We provide opportunities for cultural exploration, dialogue, personal reflection and leadership development within the student life experience. Our cultural heritage celebration months provide programs for historically under-represented groups to ensure rich learning experiences in and outside of the classroom. We are looking for students who are:

                        ·Outgoing personalities with great interpersonal skills

                        ·Have been awarded College Work Study              

 

Below is a description of responsibilities that you will have at the CMA:

 

·   Coordinate and Plan cultural heritage events – includes planning 2 heritage months

 

·         Updating List serve –includes computing all new emails from sign-up sheets at events

 

·         Strategic planning – includes scheduling rooms and tables,

marketing/publicity, locating co-sponsorship with other  organizations/departments, securing funding, etc.

 

·         Attend events - including events that are scheduled after office hours

 

·         Maintaining weekly scheduled office hours – includes daily maintenance of the CMA office, answering the CMA office line and directing calls appropriately

 

·         Date Entry of CMA evaluations and Learning Beyond the Classroom (LBC) sign-up sheets

 

·         Tabling at events – includes advertising current and upcoming CMA events and materials, taking pictures during the event and other tasks as needed

 

·         Updating material for the CMA offices – includes books, magazines, brochures, videos, etc.

 

·         Assisting with other projects as assigned……and lastly

                A DYNAMIC PERSONALITY

***Working for the Center for Multicultural Affairs will fulfill Learning Beyond the Classroom requirements***
