Biography

My goal as an educator is to foster critical thinking skills, promote active participation in the classroom, provide objective feedback, increase learning in the classroom, and create an environment where different ideas can be disseminated.  My objectives in the classroom are to stimulate learning and academic growth. I have been awarded several teaching awards including: EMU Alumni Teaching Excellence Award, Most Valuable Professor Award presented by the Eastern Michigan Men’s Basketball Team, Teaching Recognition by the TAU Kappa Epsilon Chapter., Nominated for the Celebration of Student Success Award and the NAACP-EMU 12th Annual Image Award-W.E.B Dubois Teaching Award.
