Dr. Sulfridge has been teaching Communication courses at Eastern Michigan University since 1994 and has additionally held positions at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Washtenaw Community College. His primary teaching and research interests lie in the area of Interpersonal Communication and Communication Education. Prior to his academic career, he served in the military as part of the 381st Medical Detachment and the 323rd Combat Support Hospital.
Dr. Sulfridge’s research interests include verbal aggression, stress and well-being and a concentrated focus on adolescent development, particularly within marginalized groups, such as LGBT youth.
