The Butterfly

The Butterfly is a wondrous Perisan fable of survival, bravery and sacrifice. Originally adapted by Bijan Mofid, this lovely and touching new translation by Pirooz Aghssa will be presented as a staged reading.

Facing a life or death challenge from a dangerous spider, a beautiful butterfly must go in search of insects to bring back or become the spider’s next meal. On her path she discovers a world of fantastical creatures, new adventures and inner strength. Each encounter touches the butterfly’s heart and she leaves a part of herself with everyone she meets.

Directed by Patricia Zimmer, performances of The Butterfly will be in the Sponberg Theatre on March 3 & 4 at 7pm and March 5 at 2pm, one weekend only. (Second Stage series). Recommended for ages 10+.
