Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening is a provocative rock musical, dazzling in its brutally honest depiction of teen angst, rebellion and budding sexual passion.

The tightly bound laces of a 19th-century German town are burst open in this dichotomy of love & loss, old world ideals & contemporary music. Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, the bold production highlights the communication lost within the generation gap. It touches on the controversial topics of abortion, rape, masturbation, and suicide.

Based on the play by Frank Wedekind, with book & lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik, Spring Awakening will be directed by Pirooz Aghssa with music direction by R. MacKenzie Lewis. Performances will be in the Quirk Theatre on March 31, April 1, 6, 7, 8 at 7pm and April 2 & 9 at 2pm. Recommended for mature audiences.
