The MBA with international business specialization at Eastern Michigan University has been recognized as one of the nation’s best in terms of its global emphasis by a national website that serves as a resource for potential MBA students around the world.

Onlinembapage.com cited Eastern in its listing of top MBA programs with a global business focus that are online or have a large online component. Eastern was the only Michigan university included in the global business category. Read the full story.


EMU Marketing and IMC professor Shelia Sasser posthumously inducted into the Adcraft Club of Detroit’s Hall of Fame

A career devoted to propelling students to success in the advertising industry earned former Eastern University professor Sheila L. Sasser a coveted spot in The Adcraft Club of Detroit’s Hall of Fame.

The posthumous honor was awarded at the organization’s induction ceremony on July 25 at Detroit’s Madison Club, with many of Sasser’s former students and colleagues in attendance. Read the full story.

Eastern Michigan University students win scholarships in annual Information Systems Audit and Control Association competition.

A group of Eastern Michigan University Computer Information Systems students recently competed and excelled in the fifth annual Detroit Chapter’s ISACA scholarship competition.

With over 23 competing teams from a variety of universities in the metro Detroit area, two EMU student teams placed third in the competition, which is by ISACA, an international professional association focused on IT governance. Read the full story.


MBA with Human Resources Specialization is Third Track at EMU confirmed to align with National HR Society Guidelines.

Students enrolled in the MBA Human Resources specialization program at Eastern Michigan University will now be able to apply to take the professional exam administered by the profession’s national society, because EMU’s curriculum conforms to the tough guidelines of that crucial oversight group.

The National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recently notified the EMU College of Business that its Master of Business Administration, Human Resource specialization program aligns with the society’s standards, an important step for students seeking to quickly advance in the profession. Outstanding faculty and staff were recognized at the 2018 Distinguished Contributors Awards Ceremony, including the College of Business' own Susan Schanne

“There’s no question that everyone in this room touches the lives of many students,” President Jim Smith told a crowd of faculty, staff and students on March 21 in the Student Center. “It’s what makes us keep coming back every year.

The College of Business Owen Building to Close this Summer

The College of Business building will be closed for renovations this summer effective Monday, April 30, and returning in mid-August. Please check your my.emich schedule for classroom and building location of classes on main campus. The Dean's, departments and advising offices will be temporarily located in Halle Library. On Thursday–Friday, April 26–27, COB staff will be packing and moving; however, the Office of Academic Services (Suite 306) will have very limited availability to serve students who have urgent advising needs. We anticipate being fully operational in our new/temporary location on the 2nd floor of Halle Library, on Monday, April 30. The Summer semester begins on May 2 and classes will be held on main campus.

Marketing Professor, Judy Foster Davis Speaks on the American Black Journal About her Book

Judy Foster Davis wrote a book about the trailblazing black women who launched advertising careers during the 1960’s Mad Men era. The book is entitled “Pioneering African American Women in the Advertising Business.” Watch the full video.
