The Eastern Michigan University College of Business has maintained its accreditation by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs.

Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

Today, there are 727 business schools in 48 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation. For the most recent information, visit the AACSB's accredited institutions section of their website.

“Eastern Michigan University delivers one of the highest quality business educations in the region,” said Michael Tidwell, dean of the EMU College of Business. “Our faculty are devoted to student learning and continuous improvement, and our reaccreditation by AACSB affirms the quality of our programs. AACSB is the gold standard for business school accreditations, and we are proud to maintain this prestigious designation.”

Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International, said that, “It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation.

“Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students,” Reid said.

The EMU College of Business has more than 2,400 undergraduate majors enrolled, along with about 750 graduate students. The college offers 10 undergraduate degrees and six graduate degrees, including master’s programs in business administration, accounting, information systems, integrated marketing communications, human resources and organizational development, and taxation.

Eastern Michigan University's College of Business (COB) offers an innovative, cutting-edge curriculum that equips today's students for tomorrow's global business environment. The COB has numerous programs that interact with the business community, giving students practical experience working on current business issues.

Many COB programs have an international component, reflective of the global economy, and many faculty members are frequently recognized for their teaching excellence at the college and national level. The college has been named one of the nation’s best for ten consecutive years by the Princeton Review.

The college’s mission is to support the economic development of southeastern Michigan by preparing graduates to perform effectively in the global business community.
