Technology Solutions recently received three prestigious awards: best in sales (from Zultys), best in financial performance (from Technology Assurance Group), and best in customer service (from ShoreTel).

Steve Futrell, alumnus of Eastern Michigan University's College of Business, is the CEO and founder of the company.

"We consider ourselves industry leaders in what we do. Anytime you win an award that highlights your successes, and fits in with your core values, it's a great feeling" he says. "The biggest award for me is the customer service award. That's the core value of who we are."

With a mission to "make your technological experience easy," Technology Solutions is one of the premiere technology companies in Michigan in voice and data solutions for businesses worldwide.

The company provides voice over internet protocol (VoIP), structured cabling solutions and IT managed services to businesses in Europe, Asia and throughout the U.S.

"We are a very focused company on VoIP and IT managed services," Futrell says. "We specialize in finding solutions for our clients from a communication and business perspective with real-life applications that save time and money."

What makes Technology Solutions unique, according to Futrell, is its Golden Seal Support Agreement, which means that if a company needs to change locations, train personnel or update software, they aren't charged extra for those services.

"When you buy support from us, we've got you covered 24/7, 365 days a year," he says. "We're not nickel-and-diming our clients. We're delivering what they want."

Technology Solutions began in 1995 as a traditional voice company with a desire and vision to provide state-of-the-art customer service and support. What's evolved, Futrell says, is the business and how it's run.

"We went from these traditional voice systems that run on their own separate networks within an organization to now sharing the network with the IT side," he says. "Often times, when there's a problem with a company's voice system, we're finding that it could be the IT infrastructure or the carrier. We now have a different level of expertise."

As Futrell and his team at Technology Solutions continues to grow and move forward, they plan on significantly increasing their offerings from an IT manage service standpoint.

"Since our VoIP phone system runs on the IT infrastructure of these organizations, it's to their benefit to work with organizations like Technology Solutions that can manage their IT infrastructure," he says. "It'll be a monthly-managed service so we can be proactive while maintaining a high level of technological efficiency."

As for the company's most-recent accomplishments, Futrell says, "These awards are reflective of the type of people we are here. As the president and owner, I am often there to receive the awards, but it isn't about me. It's the dedication of every employee in our company that has allowed us to achieve these successes."
