Professional Summary

Mr. King works with the Faculty Directors to coordinate Center programs. As Regional Director for the Michigan SBTDC he leads the seven office system which operates in Wayne, Oakland and Monroe counties. He has been an MI-SBTDC Regional Director for nine years including three years in Ann Arbor prior to joining EMU. Mr. King started his career in student affairs at the University of Illinois – Chicago later becoming Asst. Dean of Students at Northwestern University. He then spent the majority of his career in marketing with stints at Leo Burnett Advertising where he worked on the Nestle, Pillsbury, and McDonald's accounts, before moving to Burger King Corporation in Detroit and Canada, and finally joining Domino's Pizza Inc. in national marketing. Richard operated a marketing consulting firm in Ann Arbor for five years before joining the Ann Arbor office of the MI-SBTDC.
