Admission Requirements

Admission to the IMC program is selective; each applicant is reviewed on the following criteria:

  1. Academic record–2.75 cumulative GPA, a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and official transcripts from every undergraduate institution.
  2. Relevant background in marketing–Prior marketing or IMC-related coursework (advertising, promotional strategy, etc.) at the undergraduate or graduate level; or professional experience in a marketing or IMC-related area is required. Experience gained from internships and full or part-time work in IMC-related areas will be considered.
  3. Letters of recommendation–Professional letters of recommendation from at least two individuals.
  4. Writing ability–A 300-500 word essay explaining the role of integrated marketing communications at a current or previous employer and how the knowledge gained from the IMC program could help the organization.

GRE or GMAT scores are not required for admission into the IMC program. However, if you feel these scores will enhance your overall application, you can choose to include them.

Graduate School application must also be completed as part of the admissions process for this master's program. For assistance applying online, see before you apply online.

Because Eastern Michigan University is the only AACSB accredited Business School to offer this premier program in an online format, admission is highly competitive. Acceptance is contingent on the number of available openings for each term. We are currently accepting applications for Winter 2018. Applying early is highly recommended.

Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting an official score report from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Test System (IELTS), or the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB). Scores must be sent by the testing service directly to the University.

Application Process
