The strength of our Master's in Taxation program is that it responds to employers’ demands. The program was developed with input from local and national accounting firms and other organizations about the skills they expect from recent tax program graduates. We focus on compliance, technology, ethics and analytical thinking preparing you for high-end jobs in the tax field. The program allows you to sit for the CPA exam and specialize in tax accounting. To help you hit the ground running, you'll use the same state-of-the-art tax software used by accounting firms and major corporations around the world. Thomson Reuters has provided the license to their Ultra Tax software for our students to use in the program.

Curriculum

The Master of Science in Taxation (MST) prepares you to serve in the public or private sectors by:

  • Imparting a broad understanding of the compliance, planning and policy elements of tax practice;
  • Developing skills in the technological advances of the tax environment;
  • And focusing on the ethical and legal standards that govern the practice of tax.

As a student in the MST program, you'll take 30 credits of required core and elective courses. The program is customizable for students coming in with an accounting degree and/or CPS certificate. Others may be required to take up to 15 credits of foundation courses.
