2000 to Present
	2007	Eastern Michigan University, the No. 1 producer of educators in the nation, received an "Exemplary" grade from the Michigan Department of Education. Eastern's Teacher-Preparation Program earned a 66 out of 70 possible points; tying EMU for third place in the state.
	2004	The Michigan State Board of Education recognized Eastern Michigan University for its extensive inclusion in the U.S. News and World Report book Becoming a Teacher. Eastern was honored by Superintendent Tom Watson and the Board of Education for being an example of an outstanding teacher preparation program.
1990-1999
	1992	Christa McAuliffe Showcase for Excellence (The Use of Multicultural Literature to Develop Cultural Awareness and Reading and Writing Skills), American Association of State Colleges and Universities.
	1991	Distinguished Program in Teacher Education (CITE), Association of Teacher Educators.
		Silver Award, Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
1980-1989
	1989	EMU was cited for ten innovative teacher education programs in Those Who Can (American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, 1989).
	1987	Distinguished Achievement Award in Teacher Education, American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.

	1986	Distinguished Program in Teacher Education, Association of Teacher Educators.
