Standards/Requirements Not Met:

Standard 1.7:  Explain how economic systems other than a free-market system work to coordinate and facilitate the exchange, production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services in domestic and international markets.  The syllabi did not provide evidence of coverage.

Standard 2.1: Sequences chronologically major eras within U.S. History and key events within those eras in order to examine relationships and explain cause and effect.  The standards matrix indicates that HIST 102 and 103 are required, but they are not on the list of required courses for history majors and minors (Form XX).  Additionally, those courses do not appear to meet standard. *

Standard 2.2: Describe the five themes of geography and apply them to basic world geography  GEO 107 and/or GEO 110 are listed in the matrix as meeting this standard, but were not included on Form XX.  Are they required of all candidates for the major and minor?

Standard 2.3 Explain the structure and function of American government, core democratic values, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens.  The standards matrix indicates that PLSC 112/3 meets this standard, but they do not appear to be required courses.  How can the institution ensure that this standard will be met for all major and minor teacher candidates?

Additional information needed/action to be taken:

Section 4.8 indicates that 95% of students in the past 4 years have passed the economics certification test, yet the overview in Section 2 indicates zero (0) economic graduates.  Please explain.
