Methods of Instruction

Students in the Literature, Language, and Writing major and minor are offered a rich array of methods that include immersion in workshop approaches, project-based learning that is small group and/or individual in nature, lecture, and seminar. Technology plays an increasingly important role in our program as we encourage students to engage in email mentorships and coaching, to develop units for instruction that utilize technology, and to use technology for research. Students draw upon the instructional models they have explored in their major as they craft extended units for instruction under the guidance of their methods professors.
