3. I attended Eastern several years ago and now want to come back and complete my degree, what do I need to do?

If a student has not been enrolled at EMU for more than 8 semesters, they must reenroll in the Office of Records and Registration, 303 Pierce. Forms as also available to print off the web http://www.emich.edu/admissions/forms/reen.pdf. After their reenrollment application has been processed, they may call Academic Advising (734.487.2170) or the College of Education Advising Center (734.487.3415) to determine course selection.

4. Are applications to Eastern Michigan University online?

Applications are online at http://www.emich.edu/admissions/forms/.

5. How do I go about taking the Placement Test in Math?

Visit 515 Pray Harrold or visit http://math.emich.edu/placement.html. It is a computerized exam. You’ll have your scores when you leave the testing center.

6. What is on the Math Placement Test?

Download a copy of the study guide for the placement test.

7. Who has to take the Math Placement Test?

Any student who hasn’t met the math requirement at EMU needs to take the math placement test. In certain cases, students can meet the math requirement using ACT/SAT scores or transfer courses.

8. When programs change requirements on a Major or Minor, how do I know which program to follow?

The catalog requirements in effect at the time of the student’s initial registration at a college or university or the requirements of a subsequent catalog, including those in effect at the time of the student’s graduation, may be used to complete graduation requirements. Keep in mind that majors and minors are unofficial until the student is admitted to EMU’s teacher preparation program. It is very important that students get admitted in a timely manner so that they can continue to follow the major or minor they started.

9. When should I do the graduation audit?

Technically, students may apply for an audit after they have attained 95 credit hours. However, it is recommended that students apply for their graduation audit at the same time they submit their application for student teaching. Complete the form at the Office of Records and Registration in 303 Pierce Hall, or the form printed in the class schedule book.

10. When is the graduation application deadline?

Applications must be in during the first 2 weeks of the final semester or session in which you are enrolled. Application forms are available in the Office of Records & Registration, 303 Pierce.
