EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM A SUCCESS

Karl A. PilarOn October 24, 2007, the College of Education, Educational Leadership Program hosted the first annual Educational Leadership Research Symposium at the EMU Student Center. Twenty-four students along with 15 faculty sponsors representing 7 different higher education institutions presented round table, poster or oral/paper presentations. The symposium was sponsored by the Michigan Association of Professors of Educational Administration (MAPEA). Over 75 educational leadership students and faculty attended the event. EMU has agreed to host the event again next year.

EMU RECEIVES "EXEMPLARY" GRADE FROM DEPT. OF EDUCATION

Eastern Michigan University, the No. 1 producer of educators in the nation, received an "Exemplary" grade from the Michigan Department of Education. Eastern's Teacher-Preparation Program earned a 66 out of 70 possible points; tying EMU for third place in the state.
