Kris Gutiérrez is a Professor and Provost Chair in the School of Education at University of Colorado at Boulder and a president-elect of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Her current research interests include a study of the sociocultural contexts of literacy development, particularly the study of the acquisition of academic literacy for language minority students, and investigation of the relationship between language, culture, development, and pedagogies of empowerment.

Madhu Suri Prakash is a Professor of Educational Theory and Policy at the Penn State College of Education. In her work she concentrates on indigenous cultures, grassroots movements, and cultural diversity. She has co-authored two books: Grassroots Postmodernism: Remaking The Soil Of Cultures and Escaping Education: Living As Learning Within Grassroots Cultures.

Henry Giroux is a Professor of English and Cultural Studies and Global TV Network Chair in Communications at McMaster University. He is an American cultural critic, one of the founding theorists of critical pedagogy in the U.S, and is best known for his pioneering work in public pedagogy, cultural studies, youth studies, higher education, media studies, and critical theory. He has published more than 35 books and 300 academic articles.
