1. What services do you provide?

The Clinic offers a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services as required for students-in-training.  This means that faculty experts in all areas of speech, language or hearing disorders are available for consultation, evaluation, remediation, and counseling of speech, language or hearing impaired individuals and their families.  The professional services offered by the Clinic are accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).  The standards required for such certification are available upon request.

2. Who provides the services?

The services are provided by graduate students majoring in Speech-Language Pathology.  All services are supervised by faculty and staff who are certified speech/language pathologists.

3. How do I schedule an appointment?

Call the Clinic at 734.487.4410.  The office staff will mail you an information packet and a questionnaire.  When the questionnaire is returned, you will be contacted by phone or mail as to the status of your application.

4. Do you have a waiting period for services?

The following criteria are used to determine who will be admitted for therapy when an opening occurs in our caseload.  The Speech and Language Pathology Program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) and the Speech and Hearing Clinic is accredited by the Council for Professional Services Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).  In order to maintain our accreditation, we have to demonstrate that we have provided clinical experiences of appropriate depth and variety for our students.  The number of clients we see in a given semester is determined by the number of students enrolled in clinic courses and the time needed to provide meaningful instruction and supervision for our students.  When an opening for therapy occurs, we review the waiting list to choose clients who will add to the variety of our caseload in terms of type and severity of communicative impairment and age.  This means that clients with certain types of impairments and/or certain ages will be admitted immediately, while other clients may remain on the waiting list.  We apologize for any delay in enrolling you for therapy.  We have a commitment to see you as soon as possible and to provide a variety of quality experiences for our students.

5. Where are you located?
