The meeting was called to order by Ron Williamson, Co-Chair.
Minutes for
Jim Berry announced that faculty vita will not be required for the NCATE review.
Jeff Schulz presented a proposal for a Master of Science Degree in Health Education.
The program is designed to prepare health educators at the master’s level for school and community settings. The program would be scheduled to begin in the fall of 2004.
The committee discussed the research and statistics requirement, concerns about clarity in the written admissions criteria, and the appropriate procedure concerning the approval of new courses.
It was moved and seconded that the committee grant conditional approval for the program. The conditions are: New courses will be brought before the Advanced Programs Committee. Language concerning admissions criteria will be clarified.
The motion passed with one abstention
The schedule of meetings was modified. The April meeting will be on April 1 with April 15 as the “as needed” date.
