office of urban ed. to partner with charles h. wright museum
The College of Education's Office of Urban Education and Educational Equity will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. The partnership with the Museum, planned to be mutually beneficial, will assist the Museum’s capacity to accomplish its mission and goals. The signing will take place during an Education Open House at the Museum on Monday, May 18th, 2009 at 4:30 PM. Announcement (pdf)

David C. Winters to lead the Department of Special EducatioN
After a nationwide search, Eastern Michigan University is pleased to welcome David C. Winters as the new head of its Department of Special Education. Dr. Winters holds an earned doctorate from Northwestern University in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders - Learning Disabilities. Most recently he served as the Executive Director of Clinical Affairs at 32° Masonic Learning Centers for Children, Inc. Dr. Winters is the recipient of a number of academic awards including the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council’s "Outstanding Multisensory Structured Language Education Professional." Dr. Winters will join the department effective July 1st, 2009.
