Adding Images and Web Resources in LiveText
Images and web resources like sound bites and movie clips are a valuable way to enrich your document. These files can be added in two different ways, (1) a single uploaded file, or (2) multiple dynamic web-based files. A description of each type is given in the following information:
1. A single image or resource from your computer's hard drive or CD-ROM can be added:
- In the editor mode (see Editing Sections for more details), select edit from the image section at the bottom of the page.
- Locate the image or resource to include by first selecting the Browse ... button (1.) After you have chosen the file, then select Attach (2.)
- The image or resource will appear and can be placed on the page according to the Placement options on the left side of the page.
- Select Save when complete.
- Select Finish to see the image or resource along with the text content.

2. Multiple web-based images and resources can be added by the "cut and paste" method. However, these images and resources will only be available as long as the referring web site file is available.
- In your web browser, locate the image or resource you would like to include in your LiveText document. Right click on the item (or Control-Click on the Mac), and choose Copy.

-
Go to the page and section that the file will be added into. Open the editor (see Editing Sections for more details) and, inside of the editing area, select the paste tool ( ) from the tool bar. The image or file should appear in the editor window.

-
Select Save to keep any changes.
-
Note: The images and files added in this manner will only be preserved as long as the original file is in the referring location where you found the image, for example, from an outside website. In other words, adding multiple web resources is simply placing an active link to an existing image or file into LiveText. If the original file or image changes, so will the file or image in your document. However, this is currently the only way to add multiple images and resources into a section.
