There are three roles for training that will be available to faculty through the implementation process:

1. THE ROLE OF EVALUATOR

The first training session will focus on your role as an EVALUATOR of students’ work. You will learn how to review (i.e. make written comments on student’s work) and assess (i.e. grade and score students’ work). Faculty who teach the classes in which we have key assessments will need to know how to evaluate students’ work. Many faculty, lecturers, and adjuncts will need this training.

LiveText Evaluator covers the following items:

  • Basic Navigation (Materials, Reviews, Labels)
  • Assessing a student's work with Feedback
    • Locating the assessment & rubric
    • Review
    • Comment
    • Return /share
  • Assessing a student's work and submitting final score/grade
    • Locating the assessment & rubric
    • Score
    • Comment
    • Return/share

Faculty training for LiveText is based on a “Just In Time” training model. That is, faculty should attend the appropriate LiveText training 2-3 weeks prior to using the LiveText system.

Registration is required for Evaluator training.

2. THE ROLE OF CREATOR

The second training session will focus on the role of CREATOR of assessments and other types of LiveText documents. After using LiveText for a semester or two, you may decide you are ready to create documents on your own in LiveText. Faculty can decide if they want to take part in this kind of training. NCATE/SPA program coordinators should take part in this training.

LiveText Creator covers the following items:

  • Creating a Threaded Discussion
  • Changing your password, e-mail address, preferences
  • Creating a document (assessment, rubric)
    • Inserting a LiveText link
