NOTE: You do not need to obtain your account until you are required to do so for a class. Your instructor(s) will notify you if LiveText is needed.
Registering with LiveText is a fairly simple and straightforward process. It requires the user to provide a Key Code from the EMU LiveText Key Code web site (see "How to Obtain a Key Code", personal information (like an email address), and appropriate passwords. Once you have gotten your LiveText Key Code from EMU, go to the LiveText website at http://college.livetext.com.
1. Click on "Register Account."
2. DO NOT click the "Buy Online" link. If you purchase your LiveText account directly from LiveText.com, it will cost you $98.00, instead of the lower EMU price of $70.00 available by clicking here. A student subscription is valid for five years or until one year after the student completes the program, whichever occurs first.
3. On the next screen enter your Key Code.
4. Click "Next."
5. Provide the required information for LiveText registration. Make sure to select Michigan as the state and name Eastern Michigan University as the school. Use your my.emich e-mail address, and make sure that you correctly add your student E number as Student ID. Then click next.
6. The next screen requires you to create your account. You create a username and password and select a security question. This question is used in case you forget your username or password. Once you have chosen the question, type in the answer and a hint to the answer.
7. On this final screen, you make sure that all of your information is correct. If you need to change something, click the edit button for the section that needs the change. In the final section, check the box that indicates that you agree to the terms of service. Then click "Confirm" to finish setting up your account.
