FACULTY NOTES
Suzanne Zelnik presented "Planning a Multicultural Dance Fair" last month at the MAHPERD convention in Traverse City. At the convention, Zelnik was selected as the organization's vice president-elect for dance.
Angela R. Massenberg, with former graduate student Margaret Martin, presented "Language Performance of Children Prenatally Exposed to Crack Cocaine" at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association convention in Anaheim, CA.
Olga Nelson, Jane Gordon, Margaret Moore, Barbara Diamond, and Michael Martin presented papers at the National Reading Conference in Charleston, S.C. this past week.
Rosella Bannister was in Mexico City this past week attending a meeting of the Chemical Manufacturers Association Public Advisory Panel on "NAFTA and Environmental/Economic Concerns." This week Bannister is in Chicago presenting to the Advisory Board of the National Futures Association on "Consumer Approaches to Investing."
Mary Bigler presented at the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals convention in Grand Rapids on November 10.
Jaime Grinberg presented "The Cooperative School for Student Teachers and the Progressive Movement: A Different Pedagogy of
Teacher Education" to the doctoral seminar in teacher education at MSU.
Marvin Pasch will present "Teaching as Decision-Making: Instructional Practices for Successful Teaching" as part of the FCIE series, December 7, 12-1:30, Starkweather. Call 7-1386 to register.

AACTE INVITES "BEST PRACTICES" FOR "SHOWCASE" AT CHICAGO CONVENTION
The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education invites institutions to participate in the "Showcase of Best Practices" during the Chicago convention in February. Information and application forms are available in each department.
EMU FOOTBALL STAFF SEEKING FACULTY TO HELP RECRUIT
The EMU football coaching staff is looking for faculty members that have an interest in helping to recruit quality student-athletes through participation in one or more of six luncheons. Those interested should contact John Bowers, assistant coach, at 7-2160.
WSU TO HOST WORKSHOP ON HOLOCAUST
Wayne State University is planning a workshop for educators on "Teaching Children on the Holocaust and Armenian Genocide." The date is April 15. Call 313-577-2246.
AAHE CALLS FOR PAPERS ON ASSESSMENT
The American Association for Higher Education has called for proposals on "Involvement in Learning: Realizing the Potential of Quality and Assessment for Improving American Higher Education." Deadline for workshops and consulting breakfasts/teas is December 10. Deadline for general sessions, poster sessions, etc. is January 10. CREATE NATIONAL EVALUATION INSTITUTE CALLS FOR PAPERS
WMU's CREATE National Evaluation Institute has called for field symposium papers for the 3rd annual National Evaluation Institute. Papers should be on teacher evaluation, administrator evaluation, school evaluation, and issues cutting across these. Deadline is January 10. For information contact Geoffrey A. CALL FOR PAPERS ON EXCELLENCE AND EQUITY IN EDUCATION
The international conference on Excellence and Equity in Education has a call for abstracts of papers with a deadline of December 15. MACTE MEETING ON ASSESSMENT SET FOR JANUARY 14
The Michigan Association of Colleges for Teacher Education is sponsoring a conference on "Assessment of Teacher Education" on January 14 at MSU.
