1997 NCATE ACCREDITATION/STATE APPROVAL DOCUMENTATION

We're impacting the way America learns!

Welcome to the web site for Eastern Michigan University's 1997 National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditation and State of Michigan approval documentation!

We are pleased that we are among the very first institutions in the country authorized to submit professional education accreditation/state approval materials electronically instead of via paper. The primary purpose of this site is to make our materials available electronically to the Board of Examiners team members. In addition, this is to make our materials available to other significant parties in the NCATE accreditation and state approval process, to the professional education community at large, and -- of considerable importance -- to the total Eastern Michigan University community of faculty, staff, and students.

By clicking on the appropriate headings given below, the reader will be taken to the material on the subject. Numerous links take the reader to greater detail on most matters. In addition, this web site includes a search mechanism. (See below)

Much appreciation is expressed to Robert Winterhalter, Patti Maihofer, Grover Thomas, Kirk Nagel, Bert Greene, and many others for assistance in the preparation of this web site. Ronald Collins, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, has been generous in his support of staff and other resources to make this web site possible.

EMU teacher educators produce knowledgeable professionals who are caring, reflective, decision-makers in a culturally diverse and technological society. (initial preparation programs)

Eastern Michigan University advanced professional education programs develop leaders who demonstrate reflective thought and scholarship within the context of a culturally diverse society.
