Music: Use of Assessments

- Recently (FA 00), the Department of Music revised requirements for the thesis or final project so that the student’s three-person committee is selected very early in the program.

- A possible new degree program (Master of Music Education) has been proposed

- There is a reliable course evaluation system in place cross campus. Students assess the course and instructor near the conclusion of each semester.

- Changes are instituted through the Department of Music Instruction Committee, which is always monitoring the program and recommending improvements for consideration by the full faculty.

- Within MUSC 694 students select the topics chosen for seminar discussion through a polling process.
