English as a Second Language
Section 3: Instructional Faculty
Most
professional development experience for faculty comes in the way of attendance
at professional conferences, and working with our graduate students who are in
the field. As most ELLs have been excluded from MEAP
testing until recently, there has not been an urgency to be experts in that
area. The passing of Title III, “No
Child Left Behind” is causing all of us in the field concern about what will be
considered adequate yearly progress. While
we have no answers, we are keenly aware of the challenges and problems. Our collaborators in the K-12 settings are
helping us in this area.
