a.  Early Field Experiences.  The ESL endorsement   is an add-on, available only to those already certified  in other areas.  Only those that already have experience in the public school setting seek to achieve this add-on through graduate work.  Thus, early field experience is less relevant to them than to the undergraduate with teaching  experience.  Nonetheless, as part of the course requirements for TSLN 503, Observation and Analysis of Multicultural Classrooms,  they are directed to observe and analyze their own classrooms in a systematic way and report upon their findings.
