Candidate
Proficiencies Aligned with the Expectations in Professional,
State, and Institutional Standards
In all applicable instances, the EMU candidate
proficiencies
are aligned closely
with the 1993 INTASC
Standards
and with the Entry
Level Standards
for Michigan Teachers
(See previous
section.) A
summary of this
alignment
may be seen in Exhibit
CF-26,
the Matrix of
Initial
Program Outcomes
and Standards. In
a number
of cases, advanced
programs for teachers
are aligned
closely with
the Standards
of the National
Board
for
Professional
Teaching Standards. See
Exhibit CF-25.
In addition, candidate proficiencies are also
aligned
in
all applicable cases with the expectations of NCATE's
Specialized Professional Associations (SPA's), in
all
applicable cases with the subject-field requirements
of the Michigan Department of Education, in all
applicable
cases with the objectives for the Michigan Tests
for
Teacher Certification, and with institutional requirements
for majors and minors and for graduate programs.
