David C. Winters to lead the Department of Special EducatioN
After a nationwide search, Eastern Michigan University is pleased to welcome David C. Winters as the new head of its Department of Special Education. Dr. Winters holds an earned doctorate from Northwestern University in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders - Learning Disabilities. Most recently he served as the Executive Director of Clinical Affairs at 32° Masonic Learning Centers for Children, Inc. Dr. Winters is the recipient of a number of academic awards including the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council’s "Outstanding Multisensory Structured Language Education Professional." Dr. Winters will join the department effective July 1st, 2009.

PANEL DISCUSSION TO KICKOFF ASIAN/PACIFIC ISLANDER MONTH

D.U.E.T.s.s. PROGRAM offers scholarship of over $13,000 per year
Are you interested in teaching math, science or technology? If so, the Developing Urban Education Teachers in STEM Subjects (D.U.E.T.S.s.) program is offering a scholarship that covers full tuition, fees and expenses (over $13,000) per year in the program. porter chair lecture series TO BE STREAMED LIVE
The John W. Porter Distinguished Chair in Urban Education 2008-2009 Lecture Series continues this evening with Dr. Beth Harry from the University of Miami School of Education. Dr. Harry will lecture at 7:00 PM in Suite 203 of the John W. Porter Building on "Making a Difference in the Over-Representation of Minority Students in Special Education."
