The COE welcomes Dr. Jann Joseph as Dean

On July 1, Dr. Jann Joseph will begin her tenure as dean of the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University. Dr. Joseph was appointed to the dean's position this month by EMU provost Dr. Jack Kay. She will also hold a faculty appointment as a professor within the Department of Teacher Education.

Dr. Joseph's doctorate is in the field of curriculum and instruction (science education) from the University of Wisconsin. Her masters degree is in plant science and her baccalaureate degree is in agriculture - both from the University of the West Indies at St. Augustine in Trinidad and Tobago.

Currently, Dr. Joseph serves as associate dean for professional development and administration in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Grand Valley State University. Prior to serving as associate dean, she served as a program coordinator for an integrated science education program and a faculty member in the Department of Biology (science education).
