EMU earns re-accreditation from NCATE

Published May 2, 2011

The Unit Accreditation Board of The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) announced on April 21 that it is re-accrediting EMU's educator preparation programs through the year 2017. EMU's educator preparation programs have been continuously accredited by NCATE since the accrediting body was founded in 1954. In addition to earning re-accreditation for the overall quality of its educator preparation programs, EMU had 24 programs recognized for their excellence in meeting national standards within specific disciplines (i.e. special education, English, early childhood education, science, etc.) – more than any other institution in the Midwest.
