New Michigan Department of Education process for applying for a teaching certificate

The Michigan Department of Education has changed the application process for educator certification. Teachers and teacher candidates who meet all requirements for Michigan certification must apply through the new Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS). MOECS becomes operational February 8, 2011. Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate teacher certification students can get more information about MOECS here.
IMPORTANT: Changes to the Elementary Education Certification Program - Effective July 1, 2010

Eastern Michigan University launched its new elementary education certification program on July 1, 2010. Students admitted to the initial teacher preparation program after July 1, 2010 will follow the requirements for the new program.
2010-2011 Michigan Test for Teacher Certification Dates

The Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) will be offered in October 2010, November 2010, January 2011, April 2011, and July 2011. A registration information flyer can be found HERE.
