MTTC Testing Requirements for Student Teaching
The College
of Education at Eastern Michigan University
requires completion of the Basic Skills Test (Michigan Test for Teacher Certification) as a requirement
for admission to teacher certification.
| • |
All
students desiring Michigan certification
at the elementary level (K-6) must
pass the elementary subject test. In
order to teach a major/minor in grades
6-8, students must also pass the appropriate
subject tests. Students with "planned program" minors take the elementary subject test. |
| • |
All
Secondary certification candidates
must pass the Michigan subject test
in the major and minor by the time they are recommended. |
| • |
The
following majors and minors are exempt
from the state subject test(s) because
no test exists for these areas: |
| |
◦ |
Structure
of the Disciplines (Minor) |
◦ |
Vocational/Occupational Endorsement |
|
| • |
Make certain that you report your scores to Eastern Michigan University |
NOTE: Students
with special needs should consult with Access Services and with the Assistant Dean in 206 Porter Building before beginning
their student teaching placements.
