The MARS Program is a professional development program designed 
to serve minority students enrolled in teacher preparation programs in the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University.
The MARS Program provides a variety of activities to support student retention and success during the senior year of study, including educational seminars designed to enhance student understanding of
- racial identity,
- cultural competency and
- multicultural pedagogy
Students also enhance professional teaching skills through discussions and interaction with program staff and guest speakers in a setting designed to provide reassurance and affirmation.
