Graduate Programs

Overview
The graduate programs in the Department of Special Education at Eastern Michigan University combine current educational theory and research-based best practices.  Through the individualization of degree programs, exciting challenges are available to both the novice and the experienced professional. At the graduate degree level, Special Education Endorsements are available in the following areas:
  • Cognitive Impairment (CI)
  • Emotional Impairment (EI)
  • Hearing Impairment (HI)
  • Learning Disability (LD)
  • Physical and Other Health Impairment (POHI)
  • Speech/Language Impairment (SLI)
  • Visual Impairment (VI)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
At the specialist degree level, Approvals are available as a Supervisor of Special Education and as a Director of Special Education.
