The secondary certificate covers grades 6-12 in the areas of endorsement. For those who have 7-12 endorsements, they are considered 6-12 endorsements beginning August 16, 2006.
The elementary certificate covers grades K-5 all subjects, grades 6-8 all subjects in a self-contained classroom, and grades 6-8 for any subject area in which the teacher has an endorsement.
