To add an additional endorsement to your teaching certificate, you will need an approved program of study. Obtain a signed program of study (pdf) from an appropriate Eastern Michigan University department. An advisor (pdf) in the department that houses the endorsement area will go through your transcripts and determine what classes you still need to fulfill the endorsement requirements. Complete coursework as described on the program of study.
Send official MTTC score to EMU for the endorsement to be added.
If you are using transfer credits, have an official transcript from the other school sent to the Office of Admissions, P.O. Box 970, EMU, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.
When you meet requirements for the additional endorsement, apply for your updated certificate through the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS). Because the Michigan Department of Education is transitioning to MOECS, they are not accepting applications for any type of teacher certification from November 15, 2010 through February 7, 2011.
