M.A.R.S. student
The M.A.R.S. Program is a professional development program designed to serve minority students enrolled in teacher preparation programs in the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University.
The M.A.R.S. Program provides a variety of activities to support student retention and success during the senior year of study, including educational seminars designed to enhance student understanding of the following:
- Racial identity
- Cultural competency
- Multicultural pedagogy
Students also enhance professional teaching skills through discussions and interaction with program staff and guest speakers in a setting designed to provide reassurance and affirmation.
