United Way Success By Six Early Childhood Care and Education Initiative seeks “to promote and to help maintain quality childcare throughout Lake Orion and Oxford Communities,” sponsoring monthly Parenting Workshops, Lake Orion/Oxford Early Childhood Professional Organization and Professional Development Workshops for Child Care Providers.
Oakland Regional 4C Association promotes and advocates for the optimal care and development of Michigan's children and families as part of the statewide Community Coordinated Child Care (4C) Network.
Oakland/Livingston Head Start is “a comprehensive preschool experience designed to prepare three-to-five year old children, including children with disabilities, for social and educational success. Head Start focuses on the needs of the entire family, as they relate to the development of the child.”

FAMILY SUPPORT, HEALTH, HOUSING, & BASIC NEEDS
United Way 2-1-1 is “a multi-lingual, comprehensive information and referral service available 24/7/365.” It has a database of 20,000 programs and services, and special projects including: 2-1-1 On the Go! to help homeless individuals get off the streets and into permanent housing and full-time employment, and 2-1-1 Help Book to assist social workers, case managers and families.
Oakland Family Services has provided comprehensive child & parent services, behavioral health services, and school readiness & education services, among others, to Oakland County residents since 1921.
Community Network Services is a mental health care provider that identifies, supports, and promotes opportunities for eligible persons in Oakland County with mental illness, including substance use. Their services include assessment, case management, psychiatric, therapy and recovery services.”
Common Ground Sanctuary “provides a lifeline for individuals and families in crisis, victims of crime, persons with mental illness, people trying to cope with critical situations and runaway and homeless youths.” Its 24-hour Crisis and Resource Hotline at 1.800.231.1127 offers free and confidential counseling, information and referrals.
Lighthouse of Oakland County offers many services that are free to eligible clients, such as:
Lighthouse Teen Path: Provides two year housing to homeless women who are parenting and/or pregnant. Onsite childcare, counseling, life skills, and continuing education services are provided.
Lighthouse Emergency Services: Provides emergency services for utility shut off or overdue rent notices and food assistance.
The Center for Working Families: Have staff that will provide services to help you meet your financial and career goals.
Oakland County Family Independence Agency is a non-county governmental DHS agency, with offices in Pontiac and Oak Park, which “helps to improve the quality of life in Michigan by protecting children and vulnerable adults, delivering juvenile justice services, and providing the support necessary to strengthen families and individuals striving for independence.”
Easter Seals provides many services such as mental health and children health services. Collaborative Solutions (866-212-4389) provides “mental health services for Oakland County residents who have some type of current legal involvement such as probation or parole, as well as diversion from jail into treatment for those who have committed non violent misdemeanors and for adjudicated youth in Oakland County, MI.”. Family Mental Health (248-475-6300)“provides comprehensive, multi-faceted, community based co-occurring mental health & substance abuse services for Oakland County families with children from birth through 18 years of age”.
The Counseling Center for Women has a "friendly, homelike atmosphere and has been a place of help and comfort for hundreds of women. The location of our office was chosen for the privacy it allows our clients, as well as the feeling of being a part of the downtown community. The staff is committed to helping women identify strengths, and our philosophy is based on the concept of empowerment. Taking control of one's life fosters individual growth and personal fulfillment. Even though the Center does focus on issues primarily concerning women, we work with men, couples, adolescents and children as well.” The center is open seven days a week and the hours are flexible with day and evening appointments available. “Our fees our based on a sliding fee scale (based on ability to pay, some limited insurance accepted). Our fees are reasonable and we can accommodate low-income clients”.
Z.I.A.D. Healthcare for the Underserved provides sliding scale primary care at various sites in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Genese, Saginaw, Midland, Bay, and Tuscola counties. Patients in need of healthcare, physicians willing to volunteer to see uninsured patients on a sliding scale, and those wishing to collaborate are welcome to call.
Community Housing Network seeks to create and maintain quality affordable housing for the homeless and people with disabilities.

EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT
Oakland ISD Alternative Public Education is a group of schools/programs offered through Oakland ISD. Teen parent specific options include: Clarkston Renaissance Program, Ferndale Crossroads Campus, Jefferson Center, and Taft Education Center, Hazel Park Teen Parent Program, Madison Community High School, Pontiac Bethune Alternative High School, Royal Oak Opportunity Center, and Walled Lake Teen Parent Program.
The Student Advocacy Center (SAC) is located in Ypsilanti, and provides free individual case advocacy, technical assistance, and training for parents, students, and professionals about children’s educational entitlements and due process rights in Michigan. The advocates are not employees of the schools or the government. Programs include Teen Parenting Groups, Lifeskills Training, and Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN).
Troy Career Center offers access to job training programs and services free of charge.
Rochester Adult and Adult Center for Education provides the courses you need to obtain your high school diploma or GED.

FAITH-BASED
Down to Earth Community Outreach Center Mission is a faith-based United Way organization whose goal is “to aid families and individuals with services and referrals that help them overcome barriers that hinder their ability to become fully self-sufficient.”
Catholic Social Services of Oakland County offers community services, including: adoption and foster care, counseling and substance abuse, prenatal and parenting education, self-sufficiency/life skills, and Hispanic outreach.
Apostolic Impact is a Christian ministry that aims to “reach the youth of today, to be relative to their needs, to disciple, to build, and equip them with the tools necessary to impact their world.”
Jewish Family Services - West Bloomfield and Oak Park provide direct and support social services, with focuses on: parent and child concerns, adoption, blended family issues, grief counseling, addiction recovery services, and domestic abuse/dating violence counseling and shelter. People from all religious and ethnic backgrounds are welcome.
